The premier 5-DAY ADVENTURE

If you have learned the foundational wilderness survival skills and now want to take things to the next level, then this is the adventure for you. Building off the 3-day adventure, this more in depth program builds and deepens your knowledge of the Rule of Five.

On this guided training you immerse yourself in outdoor living, learning ancient lifestyle skills that have been passed down for centuries. Along with the additional Core Conceptsin this training, it’s a hands-on, hard-hitting five days of direct instruction that will change your view of the natural world. You leave with confidence and trust in yourself, your abilities, and the outdoor world.

This is a Ro5 all-inclusive adventure with lodging, transportation to and from the Rule of Five Base, chef catered meals, all training supplies, the Ro5 survival kit, and more.

The custom Rule of Five Wilderness Kit: It’s not your typical wilderness survival kit. All of the Ro5 components have been time tested, are found worldwide and are valued in all cultures.

A detailed gear list is provided after registration is complete.

AREAS OF CONCENTRATION

Shelter 202:

  • Varied shelter skills including nature made and human constructed. Differences in the emergency, short term and long term shelters.
  • Wool blanket uses and techniques

Fire 202:

  • Additional fire-by-friction techniques
  • Practical applications of fire science
  • Fire pit designs for a “working” fire
  • Fire and ember base cooking

Edge 202:

  • Knife safety, various knife skills and use, plus additional presentations on breaking rock
  • Survival Atlatl, dart and practice range skills
  • Complex tool and materials making including hunting implements

Vessel 202:

  • Detailed vessel making techniques from canteens to pack frames to knotted netted bags.

Cordage 202:

  • Making and crafting with cordage, including reverse wrapping techniques, splicing and fusing fibers and weaving.

Our all-inclusive rate structure ensures visits to the Rule of Five are a memorable and unique experience combining luxury hotel accommodations (first and last nights), comfortable safari-style wilderness camping, and chef-prepared meals.

Our hotel affiliate is walking distance from the historic Santa Fe Plaza, Canyon Road and the Georgia O’Keeffe museum.

Rule of Five Base cuisine…

Daily breakfast, lunch, hors d’oeuvres and dinner are prepared with thoughtful consideration for you. Our dining experience will vary every day. You will have chef-prepared meals and you will sometimes share the memorable experiences of cooking with the vitality of fire, learning Dutch oven cooking and open flame grilling. You will be asked about dietary restrictions before you arrive so we can accommodate your preferences (meat, vegetarian, gluten free).

  • SUNDAY Introduction

    Travel day en-route to the Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dinner @ 6PM Eloisa, in the Drury, introductions and overview.

  • MONDAY Training

    Breakfast. Departure at 8:00 AM for Ro5 base. Orientation to Ro5 base, start training in the Rule of Five. Dinner at 6 PM, fireside debrief, questions and continued training.

  • TUESDAY Training 2nd Day

    Breakfast completed by 8:30 AM, training begins at 9 AM in the Rule of Five. Train until dinner at 6 PM, fireside debrief, questions and continued training.

  • WEDNESDAY Training 3rd Day

    Breakfast completed by 8:30 AM, training begins at 9 AM in the Rule of Five. Train until dinner at 6 PM, fireside debrief, questions and continued training.

  • THURSDAY Training 4th Day

    Breakfast completed by 8:30 AM, training begins at 9 AM in the Rule of Five. Train until dinner at 6 PM, fireside debrief, questions and continued training.

  • FRIDAY Training 5th Day

    Breakfast completed by 8:30 AM, training begins at 9 AM in the Rule of Five. Pack personal items, leave Ro5 base for the Drury Plaza Hotel by 3 PM. Settle into the Drury, Celebratory dinner at 6:30 PM.

  • Saturday Training Complete!
