Testimonials

I want to encourage others to learn more about Rule of Five Wilderness Company.  If you enjoy the outdoors and want to learn about both basic survival skills as well as the skills and traditions of our ancestors, Rule of Five is for you.  I have stay at their training center and found it to be a safe and blissful place to learn.  The first night I was there we enjoyed comradery around the camp fire and later while in my tent, I listened to two different groups of coyotes howling to each other.  In the morning, I woke up to elk bugling nearby.

As a practicing Paramedic for 30 years, and being involved in Search & Rescue for 20 years, I was pleasantly surprised to meet Matt and learn about the connection of basic survival skills with a direct connection to how our ancestors lived and thrived.  Matt and Heather have become personal friends, and I highly encourage others to sign up for training and experiences offered by Rule of Five.
Kevin Henson
NREMT-Paramedic, Bound Tree Medical

Truly, Matt is a gifted teacher and a credit to his profession of outdoor experiential education.
Barbara K. Rector

Due to Matt’s lengthy field experience--with me and with other outdoor programs--his passion for the subject matter, and his knowledge of Southwestern terrain, I would highly recommend primitive living skills courses taught by him.
Cody Lundin
Founder, Aboriginal Living Skills School

Matt’s backcountry and primitive skills are world class. You’ll not find many who have walked the walk like Matt Brummett. He is a man of high values who knows who he is and shines that upon others through teaching.
Daniel von Bargen
Regional Director for Youth and Community Programs at The Student Conservation Association

I am a survival instructor myself, I learned an incredible amount of information in the class.
